The Carolina Panthers have fired an employee over insensitives post made regarding the murder of Charlie Kirk, according to reports.

According to the Charlotte Observer's Scott Fowler, Charlie Rock - who worked on the Panthers' communications department - has been dismissed by Carolina over the posts in question.

Conservative activist and Trump ally Kirk was shot and killed while speaking at a Q&A event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday, with his assassination sending shockwaves across the world.

The Panthers said in a statement: 'The views expressed by our employees are their own and do not represent those of the Carolina Panthers. We do not condone violence of any kind. We are taking this matter very seriously and have accordingly addressed it with the individual.'
