Leeds United defender Isaac Schmidt has revealed he is already looking to secure a permanent exit next summer and remain at Werder Bremen.
[BILD have comments from the defender today](https://www.bild.de/sport/fussball/werder-bremen-playstation-half-bei-star-transfer-kuriose-erklaerung-68c16d7314783f3062eeb243), in which he reveals that he’s already on the hunt for an apartment in Bremen after arriving in the summer.
Schmidt joined the German side on a season long loan deal from Leeds at the end of last month after a miserable first year at Elland Road.
He joined Leeds last summer from St. Gallen in Austria but only managed 251 minutes in total across 14 appearances last season as Jayden Bogle was the undisputed first choice right-back under Daniel Farke.
The arrival of James Justin from Leicester City this summer only further pushed him down the pecking order and so he has now departed, joining Bremen on loan for the season. That deal includes an option for them to make the deal permanent for €3m.
That is likely to be exercised according to BILD, particularly because Schmidt has the advantage of being able to play on both sides of defence. He’s certainly open to the idea and admits he’s already property hunting.
“I’m looking for an apartment and want to settle down here. I’ve only just arrived, but my goal is to stay,” he said when asked about the matter.
