Leeds United star Isaac Schmidt has paved the way for his confirmed permanent exit from Elland Road. He joined Werder Bremen on loan towards the end of the transfer window after the Whites signed James Justin from Leicester City.
Schmidt joined Leeds last summer, but played a very insignificant role in their promotion season and was mostly on the fringes of Daniel Farke’s squad. He was almost certain to leave the club at the end of last season.

He and his agent had a deal in place to join Werder Bremen on loan for weeks, but Leeds kept delaying his exit until they brought in a replacement. The defender’s departure was executed as soon as Justin joined the Whites.
Werder Bremen signed him on loan while agreeing to cover his full wages. Leeds didn’t get a loan fee, but the German club have an option to buy him on a permanent deal at the end of the season.

Schmidt has made a solid start to life at Werder Bremen and has already scored a league goal for the German outfit in the ongoing campaign.
The defender is keen to impress at Werder Bremen and wants to get over his time at Leeds, where he played very little football during his one-year stay at Elland Road.
The Swiss indicated that he has no plans to return to Leeds and is already keen to put down roots at the German club, where he is still on a loan deal.
He conceded that he needs to earn the move and has just arrived at the club. However, Schmidt has made it clear that his goal is to sign a permanent contract with the Bundesliga outfit.
“I’m looking for an apartment and want to settle down here”, Schmidt told Bild.
“I’ve only just arrived, but my goal is to stay.”
