Carroll: Bouncing back in week 3 from an unlucky week 2 - A college football gambling preview

Sports wagering has taken over the football landscape and with our friends from Circa, BNN is getting in on the action. Throughout the season I'll be releasing weekly picks columns with the help of my personal power ratings, advanced data, and vibes to give my insight on the weekend's matchups.

Last week was almost incredible for the column. We finished the week 5-5 but had two totals (UNLV/UCLA over and the Ole Miss/Kentucky under) finish within a point of cashing. 7-3 looks a lot better than 5-5, but that's how it goes. The obvious choice for game of the week is Texas A&M travelling to South Bend to take on Notre Dame. The Irish are sitting at 7-point favorites (my ratings make it 7.5) and the total at 50 (my ratings make it 52.5). Without much of an edge on the total, let's attack a prop bet. A&M's run defense has been suspect the first two weeks of the season, and after star running back Jeremiyah Love got just 10 carries against Miami in week one, I suspect the Irish make an effort to run Love early and often. We'll go prop bet in this week. Jeremiyah Love over 73.5 rushing yards (-115)
