**Tim Sherwood has always felt like one of those former players who, if it wasn't for the fact he was forced to go there as a player, would never venture north of the Watford Gap, so it shouldn't be too much of a shock that the former Tottenham Hotspur man completely ignored the talent at Newcastle United when picking his ideal England XI.**
We've got very little time for the opinions of Tim Sherwood anyway, especially on matters relating to Newcastle United.
This is the man who had to walk back comments suggesting Newcastle had overpaid for Anthony Gordon and then, despite being Mr Spurs, was one of those pundits who believed Arsenal had some sort of divine right to have Alexander Isak.
Obviously, we've got a slightly biased opinion when it comes to our lads being in the England side; we're not shying away from that, but even with our black and white tinted specs resting on the desk, we can see at least two of our lads who'd replace Sherwood's picks.

Tim Sherwood has had a 'mare
----------------------------
Talking on Sky Sports News, Sherwood named his ideal England XI, which included Reece James at left-back, which probably tells us everything we need to know about his footballing knowledge before we even go any further.
He also opted to reinstate Jack Grealish on the left side of the attack. Sure, he's undergoing a bit of a revival at Everton, but is it enough to justify a place in the England team over Anthony Gordon? Doubtful. We'd even put Harvey Barnes ahead of Grealish right now.
Not including Tino Livramento in either full-back position, especially when he's already gone with a right-back on the left, just seems insane to us. Tino has been outstanding for England, and with Lewis Hall returning to fitness, even Tino will be fretting over his place in that lineup because, as a natural left-back, he makes more sense.
We wonder if our lads had been excluded if they played for more southerly sides
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We're not going to go all out and suggest that Dan Burn should be getting in ahead of Ezri Konsa or Marc Guehi. We're not even 100% sold on Anthony Gordon being on the side; we just feel that he's a better option than Grealish right now.
It's probably not too much of a stretch to believe that had Tino Livramento been a Chelsea player, or even had his reported move to Manchester City materialised this summer, then his name would have been on Sherwood's list.
The southern bias is real. You can only escape it if you've won a title in the last 20 years because then you make yourself too hard to ignore. If that's what it takes to be recognised, then so be it. Let's do this!
