Manchester United agree loan deal for last remaining "bomb squad" member to leave the club - Manchester United News

Manchester United have reached an agreement with Turkish club Eyupspor for the loan transfer of Tyrell Malacia according to reports in Turkey. Malacia is the last remaining member of United’s “bomb squad” of outcasted players forced to train away from the first team squad.

Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, and Antony were the other outcasts. They have now joined Barcelona, Chelsea, Aston Villa, and Real Betis respectively. Malacia has been frozen out of the first team picture under manager Ruben Amorim.

Turkish journalist Resat Ozbudak has now reported that United and Eyupspor have reached an agreement on loan the player, but await the player’s decision to finalize the move. Malacia has endured a difficult time at United, with injuries cutting his time on the pitch short.

He’s also fallen out of favour with manager Ruben Amorim. He joined United from Feyenoord in 2022 under then manager Erik ten Hag. He made 22 Premier League appearances in his debut season.

He then suffered a serious knee injury which kept him out for the entirety of the 2023/24 season, returning in 2024/2025. He made 3 Premier League appearances under Amorim, before spending the second half of last season on loan at PSV.

Malacia could depart United

He now finds himself completely frozen out of the first team picture at United and told to search for a new club this summer. He was close to a deadline day move to La Liga side Elche, but the move failed to materialize.

Despite the Premier League window slamming shut on September 1st, Turkish Super Lig clubs still have until Friday to complete their business. Malacia could see this as his last chance at first team football this season.

The 26-year-old would be joining Andre Onana in Turkey, after the goalkeeper agreed a loan deal of his own to Trabzonspor.
