Ruben Amorim believes he's cleared Manchester United of "negative influences" after the departure of Andre Onana.

Onana is set to end his nightmare at the Theatre of Dreams with a loan move to Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor. And reports suggest that the loan move has come as a result of Onana's relationship with Amorim breaking down in the past month.

A source told The Sun: "It felt like Andre was there to just show up but wasn’t there or showing any team mentality."

The report adds that Amorim was frustrated with Onana after he picked up a hamstring injury at the start of pre-season. The Cameroonian was also filmed playing on a poor quality pitch in his homeland back in June.

Amorim has also shipped out Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia this summer.

Onana was dropped for the opening day of the season - in a clash against Arsenal. However, he was reintroduced to the side during their Carabao Cup humiliation with Grimsby.

But he was dropped again for their Premier League clash with Burnley after an error-strewn display.

United also moved for a goalkeeper on Transfer Deadline Day - as they swooped for 23-year-old Belgian Senne Lammens to the tune of £18.2million.

His recent international duty with Cameroon has been far from productive too, particularly due to his role in Cape Verde's winning goal.

The two African nations faced off in a crucial qualifying match, but the goalkeeper, who is set to join Turkish outfit Trabzonspor, did little to enhance his reputation.

His blunder occurred in the 53rd minute when Cape Verde forward Rocha Livramento regained possession, shrugged off a Cameroonian midfielder at the halfway line, and charged through their defence.

This left him in a one-on-one situation with Onana, who chose to stay on his line, but his second error was diving the wrong way as Livramento's shot found the back of the net down the middle of the goal.
