Travis Hunter‘s NFL debut was one of the biggest storylines of the young season.
He had made it clear that he wanted to play on both sides of the ball, urging teams not to draft him if that wasn’t their intention.
The Jacksonville Jaguars, however, are taking things slowly after trading up for the No. 2 overall pick.
Hunter got six snaps at cornerback in the season opener against the Carolina Panthers.
Now, with a high-powered offense up next, that could increase.
“Jaguars HC Liam Coen told reporters that Travis Hunter ‘will get more snaps on defense’ Sunday in Cincinnati against the Bengals,” ESPN insider Adam Schefter wrote on X.

Hunter played 42 snaps at wide receiver in Week 1.
His chemistry with quarterback Trevor Lawrence was evident and encouraging, as he led the Jaguars in targets (8) and receptions (6), although he managed to turn them into just 33 receiving yards.
Hunter’s ball skills are mesmerizing, and he could be one of the most productive pass catchers in the game in no time, even if he’s sharing the field with fellow young standout Brian Thomas Jr.
Then again, Hunter might be in for a tough assignment in his second NFL game, possibly having to cover Ja’Marr Chase or Tee Higgins.
The Cleveland Browns bottled up both of the Bengals’ star wide receivers, so they may be looking to make a statement against the highly touted rookie.
Even if Hunter somehow manages to slow them down, he will have to stay fresh to run routes on offense, so it should be fun to watch how he deals with this challenge.
