The Netherlands' Fiscal Information and Investigation Service (FIDO) claim he had declared he was an overseas tax resident whilst working and receiving an income in the country.
As a result, he has been accused of defrauding the authorities out of over €100,000 (£86,500).
It has also been alleged that Musampa previously had a property in Amsterdam repossessed amid years of tax issues.
The 48-year-old is currently working for former club Ajax, serving as the assistant manager of their Jong Ajax reserve side.
In a statement, a club spokesperson said: "We are aware of Kiki Musampa’s arrest, but think it is too early to react to it in detail."
