NFL insider Mike Florio provided an update on Dolphins' star wide receiver Tyreek Hill after he was recently accused of domestic violence
Pretty much nothing has gone right for the Miami Dolphins as the 2025 campaign gets underway. To start, they got destroyed by the Indianapolis Colts in Week 1, suffering an embarrassing 33-8 loss. In the wake of the defeat, one of the team’s top players, star wide receiver Tyreek Hill, has found himself in hot water thanks to his latest off-field issues.
Earlier this week, Hill was accused of domestic violence by his former wife, Keeta Vaccaro, in filings related to the couple’s ongoing divorce case. With Hill once again potentially finding himself in trouble off the field, NFL insider Mike Florio provided an update on the NFL’s handling of the situation.
Mike Florio Issues Update on Tyreek Hill’s Status
Ever since getting selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft, Hill has been one of the most explosive playmakers in the league. An eight-time Pro Bowler who has earned five All-Pro First Team selections, Hill is one of the most dangerous players with the football in his hands, and if the Dolphins are going to turn things around, he’s likely going to play a big role in that happening.
The problem is that Hill has frequently found himself in trouble off the field. Dating back to 2014, Hill has been convicted of domestic assault, while also being investigated for child abuse and assault on separate occasions. Hill has also had a pair of paternity lawsuits filed against him, and he was at the center of a controversial traffic arrest ahead of Miami’s Week 1 opener in 2024.
Now, Hill has been accused of eight separate incidents of domestic violence that took place during his marriage to Vaccaro. Hill has denied the allegations, but the expectation was always that the league would take a closer look at the situation, especially given the talented wide receiver’s history. With that in mind, Florio reported that the NFL has opened a personal conduct policy review for Hill.
“I don’t know where this is gonna go. The league is investigating,” Florio said of Hill on “Pro Football Talk.”

What comes next for Hill is unknown. His status for Week 2 doesn’t seem to be in any danger for the time being, but that could change if something jumps out to the league during their investigation into Hill’s actions. More drama is pretty much the last thing Miami needs right now, but it’s obviously important that the league finds out what is going on with Hill and whether any discipline is necessary.
In the meantime, Hill’s primary focus is going to be helping the Dolphins recover from their horrific season-opening loss. Miami will have a good shot to do that against the New England Patriots in Week 2, but based on how they played against the Colts, it’s no guarantee that they will win. Kickoff for this contest is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, but it’s clear that Hill’s status is going to be worth keeping tabs on as this review unfolds.
