Manchester United will be aiming to make it successive wins in the Premier League when they head to the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon to tackle bitter rivals Manchester City.
The Red Devils entered the September international break off the back of a 3-2 success over Burnley, which made it four points from their opening three matches of the season, leaving them ninth in the Premier League table.
Man City, meanwhile, have lost two of their opening three league games of the campaign, with Pep Guardiola's side currently in 13th, boasting three points from their first three fixtures.
Man United have won on their last two visits to the Etihad Stadium, including a 2-1 success in the Premier League last season, while it was goalless when the pair last met at Old Trafford in April of this year.
Ruben Amorim's side have actually had 58 shots in the Premier League this season, which is 14 more than any other side, while it is their most shots after three games of a campaign since 2017-18 (60).
In addition, Man United have made the most off-the-ball runs in behind their opponent's defensive line this term.
That number is 131, with Bryan Mbeumo responsible for 54 of those, and he managed 22 in-behind runs against Burnley in the Premier League last time out, showing the threat that he has brought to the side.
Mbeumo - a summer arrival from Brentford - has two strikes to his name already this season, with his first Premier League goal for the 20-time English champions coming in the success over Burnley last time out.
Manchester United's Bruno Fernandes on August 30, 2025
Fernandes leads the PL charts for chances created
Fernandes, meanwhile, scored the last-gasp winner for Man United from the penalty spot against Burnley before the international break, with the Portugal international holding his nerve to register.
The Red Devils captain has created the most chances in the Premier League this season, both overall (12) and in open play (eight), showing his contribution to the cause.
Fernandes has also found the back of the net in Man United's last three wins over Man City in all competitions, including a penalty in the clash at the Etihad Stadium last term.
The 31-year-old now has players ahead of him that he can hit with passes, although Man United are currently sweating over the fitness of Matheus Cunha for the clash at the Etihad Stadium.
There is no question that the Red Devils have more pace and power in the final third of the field this term, and if Cunha and Mason Mount are both out, then Benjamin Sesko could be given the chance from the first whistle on Sunday afternoon.
