The Buffalo Bills got thier season off to a hot start with their win over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday night, erasing a 15-point fourth quarter deficit. However, reigning MVP Josh Allen knows the team has to shift its focus to this weekend’s contest against the New York Jets.
Unfortunately for the Bills, the Defense’s ability to corral and limit dynamic Jets quarterback Justin Fields, who stresses defenses both through the air and on the ground, might be a lot harder than originally anticipated, per a report from one prominent league insider.
“Bills DT Ed Oliver was added to the team’s injury report today with an ankle injury and did not practice. Oliver was spotted in a walking boot,” [reported ESPN’s senior NFL insider Adam Schefter.](https://x.com/AdamSchefter/status/1966193392561565889)
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Hope it’s nothing serious. The defense won’t feel the same without him out there,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Of course Oliver’s hurt… the moment the defense actually needed him, he’s in a boot. Classic Bills luck,” someone else added.
“A walking boot is never a good sign. It’s a huge blow to the Bills’ defense after he played so well,” another person added.
It’ll be interesting to see how the defense deals with Fields now.
