Analyst Reveals Interesting Stat About Malik Nabers

Very little went right for the New York Giants in their Week 1 loss to the Washington Commanders, which made it three years in a row that they opened the season scoring six points or fewer.

Russell Wilson’s debut as the new starting quarterback was rough, and his lackluster performance brought to light a particularly interesting statistic when it comes to wide receiver Malik Nabers.

“No player in the NFL has been targeted on more incompletions than Nabers across the last 2 seasons (69),” Dan Orlovsky posted on X.

That’s a testament to not only how much of a focal point he has been in New York’s offense, but also how poorly Giants quarterbacks have been playing.

Nabers needed 12 targets to record five catches for 71 yards and appeared visibly frustrated during the loss.

In addition, Wilson’s performance led many fans and media members to wonder if it’s already time to switch to rookie Jaxson Dart.

Wan’Dale Robinson was the only other Giants receiver to top either two catches or 14 yards, and it was clear he and Nabers are going to be far and away the most targeted options on the team, regardless of the quarterback.

Nabers has gotten off to an incredible start to his career, and it’s scary to think about the kind of production he could generate if his QBs stepped up a bit.
