Hawaii Packers bar travels over 4,000 miles to see a Lambeau Field gameday for the first time

LAMBEAU FIELD, Wis. (WBAY) - A crew from the southernmost Packers bar in the United States travelled more than 4,000 miles from Hawaii to watch the green and gold in action on Thursday, with some visiting Green Bay for the very first time.

From Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, to Green Bay, Wisconsin, the team from Quinn’s Almost By The Sea said aloha to Lambeau Field on Thursday.

Their adventures in Titletown began on Wednesday, as they explored the historic stadium, and they started their Packers gameday with a traditional neighborhood tailgate.

Quinn’s Almost By The Sea was not always known as a Packers bar.

It took northeast Wisconsin native Diane Palocol buying the bar in 2004 to transform it into a green and gold landmark.

“We have customers come in all the time from everywhere, and now they will understand the whole meaning behind it and why Packers fans are the way that we are,” says Palocol.

The Quinn’s team enjoyed a stadium tour before gameday, taking pictures by all the statues, enjoying views from all around the stadium, and even running out the tunnel, just like the players.

This trip is giving lifelong Packers fans like Tawny Halas, a Quinn’s employee, a chance to visit Lambeau Field for the first time.

“It’s definitely emotional, it’s a lifetime dream of mine to be here, and I’ve never gotten to come. I’ve seen the Packers play in a couple of other states, but I’ve never made it this far,” says Halas. “It’s been a really amazing opportunity for us, and we’re all very appreciative.”

Palocol covered the costs of the Quinn’s trip to Green Bay herself.

Her employees offered a Jordan Love-signed thank-you gift before the big game.

As they continue their unforgettable trip, the only thing more they can ask for at this point is a Packers victory.
