Analyst doubts Chiefs are 'gettable' vs. Eagles

The shine has come off the Kansas City Chiefs' aura over the past few games of football, and with the roster as a whole struggling, many think the long-time dominators of the NFL are beginning to lose their fastball.

Last season wasn't great from an aesthetic standpoint, and then we have the Super Bowl blowout and the Week 1 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers; people are beginning to sharpen their pitchforks.

But not everyone is convinced that the Chiefs are there to be slayed right now, and Rich Eisen, who was speaking about the Chiefs on the Rich Eisen Show, has a message for those doubting Kansas City after one week.

“I just counsel everybody that the Chiefs are gettable right now,” [Eisen said](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3f0D0QrCtMQ). “Let's see how things work out over the next six weeks. If you do get them because they are beatable in your mind, I remind you Rashee Rice comes back. It's a long marathon, and then in between, even with everything with Xavier Worthy going out, they still had a chance to win that game.”

Can Chiefs buck the trend vs. Eagles?

-------------------------------------

So Eisen wants to tap the brakes on the weakened Chiefs' narrative, but we will get a clear view of the picture after Sunday.

If Kansas City can slay the Eagles, then those detractors will be quiet for a week or so, but lose to the Eagles, and say lose badly, then a conversation might have to be had about the current state of the franchise.

Granted, even at 0-2, the season isn't over for the AFC West champs, but how people will view them when it comes to the Super Bowl picture and maybe even the playoff picture will be vastly different.

There feels like a lot riding on this Week 2 outing for Kansas City, and while Eisen isn't sold on the Chiefs being out as a dominant force, there are many others who think otherwise.
