Ten new faces came through the door at Elland Road as Leeds United planned to build a formidable squad for the Premier League. So far, the start to the season has contained a lot of positives.
Daniel Farke’s men have gotten four points out of a possible nine after games against Arsenal, Everton and Newcastle United. One thing that has stuck out is how good the team have been at Elland Road – two clean sheets and no losses. But on the other hand, Leeds’ away form has been poor, losing 5-0 to Arsenal and exiting the League cup.

The summer signings have produced mixed performances so far. Many of them have not had the chance to play consistently, but the likes of Anton Stach and Gabriel Gudmundsson have been bright spots. However, the feeling from the events of deadline day will not go away.

The fans had their say after they saw the inactivity as a lack of ambition from the owners, and Leeds managing director says the club did the best they could at the end of the window. Now, Daniel Farke had his turn to speak on the summer window in Thursday’s press conference. When given the chance to speak on the topic, Farke said he was disappointed, but has no complaints as his focus is on the Fulham game:
“I’m already focused on the next game,”
“It’s fair to say we are not dancing on the table.
“I’ve got principles on how I work. One is, I like openness and transparency and name it how I see it and speak in general what is necessary to do as a club. We have such a big fan base – I don’t want to navigate around some cliffs.
“The second principle is, once the window is closed, you won’t hear one bad comment from me. I am fortunate to work in this business and my job is to adapt to the reality. I don’t need to feel sorry for myself.
“I don’t want to say completely different things to say what I said before and say it wasn’t the plan – I don’t talk nonsense. Once it’s done I have to adapt to the reality. That’s what I will do.
“We have to win as many points as possible. I’m fully focused on Fulham. We need to earn the right to stay up.”
The Whites are away to Fulham on Saturday, seeking their first away win of the season.
