Packers lead Washington at the half 14-3

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WSAW) - The Green Bay Packers lead the Washington Commanders at halftime 14-3.

The Packers jumped on the board first. Jordan Love delivered a pass to Romeo Doubs from five yards out to get Green Bay a touchdown. After a Brandon McManus extra point, the Packers led 7-0 with 3:35 to go in the first.

Green Bay’s defense anchored the hot start, keeping Washington at bay. The offense built off that, capitalizing on a terrific catch by Malik Heath for 37 yards. Later in the drive, Josh Jacobs punched in a touchdown to extend the lead to 14-0 with 7:34 left in the half.

Trailing by two scores now, Washington followed up Green Bay’s scoring drive with one of their own. Matt Gay sunk a 51-yard field goal to get the Commanders on the board, trailing 14-3 with less than four minutes in the second.

Washington got the ball back before the end of the half, driving into Green Bay territory. However, Gay would miss a 58-yarder this time, giving Green Bay a shot for points right before the half. However, McManus would miss a field goal from 48, to end the half 14-3 in favor of the Packers.
