For their Thursday night showdown with the Commanders, the Green Bay Packers had star athletes in attendance off the field as well as on it. The star athletes in question: Brewers third baseman Caleb Durbin and Bucks center Myles Turner.
Hyped to be there supporting his new football team, Turner posted a video of himself on the premises shortly before the game. When Packers fans saw it, though, they had to take him to task for his choice of fan-fit: a shirt of deep Vikings purple.
Although the initial response was justifiably agonized, Turner’s attire was later revealed to be an acceptable expression of Wisconsin fandom.

Packers fans chagrined by Turner’s seeming wardrobe error
Obviously, you don’t show up to rep the Packers at Lambeau clad in Purple People Eater gear – or even the suggestion of it. It looked for all the world like the Bucks newcomer had not gotten the memo, so fans called him out.
Somebody get this man in some green & gold. No purple allowed at Lambeau!

“Will someone get this man a white Jersey?! Anything other than Viking purple,” another fan seconded. Followed by others:
“Vikings purple is a choice.”
“Purple. Come on man lol.”
“Da fuq is he wearing purple for??”

Fortunately, a subsequent photo posted by the Brewers’ team account offered some clarity.

Okay, so maybe he could have chosen a different Bucks shirt. But certain Packers fans could do a better job keeping up with Bucks topics too. You know, the NBA team that plays home games in the same state. More than a few cheeseheads were unaware, or plain forgot, that Milwaukee acquired Turner this summer in the league’s biggest free agent signing.
forgot he on the bucks now

Who?

Turns out Myles might be a good luck charm, barring the possibility that the Packers are just a really, really good football team. They kicked off the second half leading the Commanders 14-3.
