For the ninth season in a row, Alabama topped the NFL’s annual “Kickoff Weekend” roster survey, which the league released on Thursday.
The NFL survey showed 60 Crimson Tide alumni on the 53-man rosters of the league’s 32 teams. Ohio State was second, producing 56 active players. Georgia placed third with 55. Michigan was a distant fourth with 43 players.
The NFL’s count included only players who entered the league from Alabama, so six players who made a college stop between the Crimson Tide and the pros did not show up on the program’s ledger. Those missing players are Washington Commanders cornerback Trey Amos and linebacker Ale Kaho, Cleveland Browns wide receiver Isaiah Bond and running back Jerome Ford, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts and Buffalo Bills wide receiver Tyrell Shavers.
Alabama was tied for first in the “Kickoff Weekend” survey with 39 players in 2017. The Tide has been alone in the top spot every season since, with 44 players in 2018, 56 in 2019, 53 in 2020, 54 in 2021, 58 in 2022, 57 in 2023 and 61 in 2024.
Last season, 75 former Alabama players appeared in at least one NFL regular-season game – the most from one college program in one season in the league’s history.
