With Mavericks training camp less than three weeks away, questions remain about Anthony Davis’ recovery from eye surgery.

With the NBA season just around the corner, the Dallas Mavericks are preparing to open training camp in less than three weeks.

However, uncertainty surrounds the availability of key players recovering from surgery, including Anthony Davis.

Speaking about the team’s preparations, Marc Stein of The Stein Line noted the challenges ahead on the DLLS Mavs.

"We're less than three weeks away, that will be the first time we see Kyrie since he underwent knee surgery, but also it'll be our chance to see AD, who we know had this eye procedure, and based on everything I'm told, he's not fully back on the court yet," he said.

The concern is whether Davis will be ready for the start of practices on September 30 and, more importantly, for the season opener against the San Antonio Spurs on October 22.

"I mean he can't be fully back on the court yet, so it's like, when practices start on September 30th, will AD even be ready to practice at that point?"

"We don't know that yet, so it's not just the potential of starting the season without Kyrie, you know, is AD going to be ready to go on opening night against San Antonio? I mean, October 22nd ain't that far away, so there are so many questions," Stein added.

Last season, Davis managed to play only 9 games for the Mavericks in which he averaged 20.0 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks per game while shooting 46.1% from the field.
