Albion told to look Manchester City in the eye and cause a WSL shock

The Seagulls visit the Joie Stadium this evening (7.30pm) for their first away game of the campaign.

They opened with a 0-0 draw at home to Aston Villa and now visit a venue where they lost 1-0 early last season.

Albion head coach Dario Vidosic, who selects from an unchanged squad, wants his side to walk out on the Etihad campus full of confidence.

He said: “We want to go there, play our brand and try to be the dominant team.

“We take a lot of experience from last year, we take a lot of confidence.

“Sometimes when you play the so-called bigger teams that have been in that top four for a long time, you need that.

“That you are not looking up at them, that you are looking them right in the eye and that is all we want to do.

“We want to be there toe-to-toe, we want to play.

“I have no doubt it will be a fantastic game of football and it is one I am really looking forward to.”

Khadija Shaw's first-half strike gave City a hard-fought success in last term's meeting and their captain Alex Greenwood said: “Sometimes you have to win ugly."
