'Cause for concern': Chris Sutton now predicts who will win on Saturday - Newcastle United or…

· 12 September 2025, 09:30

**Wolverhampton Wanderers come to St James' Park for a 3 pm Saturday kick-off against Newcastle United as the Premier League resumes following the international break.**

Both sides are without a win in three attempts, but while Newcastle have played well and been unfortunate to only pick up two draws, Wolves don't have a point to their name.

A lack of firepower has been Newcastle's big concern this season so far, but that has now been remedied with the arrivals of Yoane Wissa and Nick Woltemade.

At least one of the two will make their debut on Saturday, and we believe at least one of them will score, too.

Chris Sutton expects a big win for Newcastle on Saturday

--------------------------------------------------------

Chris Sutton has predicted the score for the [BBC](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c0r0np8x77yo) and, [like Paul Merson](https://nufcfeed.com/a-great-fixture-paul-merson-believes-saturdays-game-could-be-the-catalyst-for-newcastle-uniteds-season-1562814), has gone for a home win, although Sutton doesn't expect Newcastle to keep a clean sheet.

> "Both of these teams are still without a win so far, although Wolves are the only Premier League club without a point on the board."Newcastle have drawn twice and only lost very late on against Liverpool, so their form is hardly cause for concern."They can move on now the Alexander Isak transfer saga is over, although this is our first look at their new attack."We will have to wait and see how fit and ready Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa are, or how they settle in, but I still think Newcastle will have too much for a Wolves team who are leaking too many goals."At least Wolves do carry a threat going forward - especially in Jorgen Strand Larsen, who Newcastle tried to sign last month."It would be typical if he went to St James' Park and scored the winner, but I don't see that happening.

A big win ahead of the Barcelona game would be very nice

--------------------------------------------------------

We'd love a penny for Jorgen Strand Larsen's thoughts on Saturday. He could have been stepping out on that pitch as a Newcastle player had things gone differently.

There's no real reason to expect anything other than a Newcastle win here, but if predicting the outcome of games was that easy, we'd all be millionaires.

We are well overdue for a win, though, and a home tie against the one side that hasn't picked up any points so far is the perfect opportunity to get one. A big win would set us up nicely for Thursday, too, when Barcelona come to St James' Park.
