Ruud van Nistelrooy could return to the dugout soon.
Although former Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy is currently without a coaching job, the Dutchman gained extensive coaching experience in the Premier League last season.
It all started over a year ago when Erik ten Hag welcomed Van Nistelrooy back to Old Trafford in a coaching capacity, having previously managed PSV Eindhoven.
Bad results led to Ten Hag getting sacked in October and Van Nistelrooy was immediately named interim manager, while Ineos searched for a successor. The former United goalscorer left after Ruben Amorim arrived from Sporting CP.
Van Nistelrooy became Leicester City manager less than a month after leaving his job at United. He eventually left the job after a miserable 27-game spell, which brought relegation from the Premier League.
After having an entire summer off to relax and recharge the batteries, Van Nistelrooy’s name is popping up for clubs looking for a new head coach.

Ruud van Nistelrooy tipped for FC Twente job
It remains to be seen if Van Nistelrooy is ready to return to management after a difficult spell at the King Power Stadium.
During Van Nistelrooy’s time at Leicester City, he secured five wins, one in the FA Cup against QPR and two against Southampton and Ipswich, who were already relegated.

According to PSV Inside, as cited by Sport Witness, Van Nistelrooy is a potential candidate for FC Twente.
FC Twente sacked Joseph Oosting last week after two years, and they have approached various managers since then.
Former United manager Ten Hag and his assistant Rene Hake have been tipped for the job, while Van Nistelrooy also faces stiff competition for the role from John van de Brom.
As things stand, it is believed Van de Brom is a favourite candidate for the FC Twente job.
What did Van Nistelrooy say after leaving Leicester City?
It doesn’t come as a surprise that Van Nistelrooy is being linked with jobs in the Eredivisie, despite failing to impress from the dugout in the Premier League.
Van Nistelrooy proved his managerial qualities in the Netherlands with PSV Eindhoven before moving back to Old Trafford.
A return to the Eredivisie could help Van Nistelrooy bounce back from a horrid time at Leicester City.
Speaking after his dismissal from Leicester City, Van Nistelrooy said (via Sky Sports): “I would like to personally thank the Leicester City players, coaches, academy and all the staff I have worked with for their professionalism and dedication during my time at the club and to thank the fans for their support, and take this opportunity to wish the club well for the future.”
It’s only a matter of time before Van Nistelrooy finds himself back in the dugout.
