Whether Benjamin Morrison Plays Is Up To Benjamin Morrison
September 12th, 2025
Bucs CB Ben Morrison.
The Bucs’ heralded rookie cornerback from Notre Dame may just see his first NFL snaps on Monday night. That’s the word from Bucs coach Todd Bowles.
But to get on the field, Bowles said, there is a simple goal that Morrison has to reach this week.
“He’s trending towards being up this week if he can have a couple of days of good practice,” Bowles said. “He’ll be [on] special teams, but we’ll try to get him some defensive snaps as well to get his feet wet.”
A big reason why Morrison did not play in Atlanta was that Morrison missed a large chunk of time in training camp with hamstring issues.
Last week Bowles hinted he probably wouldn’t play against the Dixie Chicks because Morrison had a lot of catching up to do.
How much Morrison plays on defense is unknown right now. But Bowles pretty much said where he would play.
“Well, depending on how the series go … I mean, we played a bunch of plays the last game,” Bowles said. “If it turns into one of those, he’ll end up getting some reps, but it won’t be inside.”
So there you have it: No slot corner snaps for Morrison if he takes the field Monday night in Houston. Joe guesses Jacob Parrish is holding the fort down at slot corner very well.
