Liverpool have had an impressive start to the 2025-26 season so far.
The Reds are currently sitting on top of the Premier League table with nine points to their name and look to be well on their way to retaining the title.
Of course, their first three wins didn’t come without some dodgy moments here and there, but now that all of Arne Slot’s new arrivals will be available, things should start coming together nicely.
And, the fact that their Champions League campaign is also set to kick off on Wednesday will help decrease the time it’s likely to take for them to gel with one another, as they’ll be playing double the number of games they did in August.

However, looking ahead to Liverpool’s next Premier League clash against Burnley, they should easily triumph over Scott Parker’s men, but if they do so, they’ll have to do it without one of their “complete” midfielders.
Curtis Jones is set to miss out on Liverpool’s game against Burnley
Although Liverpool now have a much stronger team than they did last season, injuries are still managing to hinder them.
Alexander Isak isn’t likely to play every game due to his lack of fitness, and now, while speaking to the media during his pre-Burnley press conference, in quotes relayed by Lewis Steele, Slot shared that another one of his men is set to be absent.
“Liverpool fitness news: Curtis Jones is not available for the game against Burnley after missing England camp through injury but the rest of the squad should be OK,” he wrote.

Liverpool need Alexis Mac Allister to be fit enough to start against Burnley
Now that Jones is officially ruled out of Sunday’s clash, Liverpool will be looking towards Alexis Mac Allister to be the creative spark among their ranks.
The Argentina international did manage to play for his country during the international break, but his manager, Lionel Scaloni, said that he still wasn’t 100 per cent fit.

This is a tad worrying for Liverpool as, when Mac Allister or Jones haven’t been available, they’ve often struggled and ended up missing the creative spark that the duo bring to the table.
Indeed, Jeremie Frimpong will be back in action, so his return could allow Dominik Szoboszlai to move into the midfield, but even with the Hungarian’s keen eye for goal, it’s unclear whether it’ll be enough.
At the moment, it’s anyone’s guess what could happen, but for now, the main things on Slot’s mind will be beating Burnley on Sunday.
