The first international break of the season saw several young Gunners thrive, with eight of our academy players representing their countries at youth level.
Ceadach O’Neill’s prolific start to the season earned him his first call-up to the Northern Ireland U21 side. Our forward came off the bench to make his debut in a 1-1 draw against Georgia in UEFA Euro U21 qualifying.
Elsewhere, Max Dowman made an excellent first impression with England U19s at their friendly tournament in Spain. Having impressed as a substitute in a 2-0 win over Ukraine, Max started and won a penalty in a 3-3 draw with Spain.
Just weeks after signing his first professional contract, Jack Porter also made his England U19s debut, starting and keeping a clean sheet in the victory over Ukraine.

In the final game of the tournament, Max and Jack came up against Arsenal teammate Demaine Agustien, who came off the bench for Netherlands U19s as they were beaten 4-1 by England. Demaine also featured for the Dutch in their 3-1 win over Ukraine and 1-0 defeat to Spain at the tournament.
Josiah King had an eventful international break, featuring in a similar tournament for England U17s in Germany. Josiah started a 2-1 win over Venezuela in the opening game, before sitting on the bench for a late win over Israel. In the final game of the tournament, Josiah played the full 90 minutes as the young Lions beat Germany 7-5 in a thriller.
Two of our Gunners represented Wales, with Brayden Clarke starting both games for Wales U19s. Brayden was made captain for the 3-1 defeat to Belgium, having also started a 2-2 draw with Austria.
Alex Marciniak was rewarded for his excellent start to the season with a spot in the starting line-up as Wales U18s took on Japan; Alex played his part in a hard-fought 1-0 victory for his side.
Summer signing Callan Hamill also represented his country, starting all three games for Scotland U17s in a development tournament featuring Serbia, Portugal and Italy. After a 2-0 defeat to Serbia, Callan was named captain for a 3-2 win over Portugal and a 2-1 defeat to Italy.
Our young Gunners now return to north London as we prepare to continue our Premier League 2 and U18s Premier League seasons, as well as looking forward to the start of our UEFA Youth League and Vertu Trophy campaigns.
