Ex-Red Bull Salzburg assistant coach Rene Aufhauser says he is confident that Man United striker Benjamin Sesko can reach Erling Haaland’s level in the not-too-distant future.
The Slovenian has often been compared to the Man City star, who also played for Salzburg before moving to the Bundesliga, and asked to rate the two players, Aufhauser predicted that Sesko will match Haaland:
“Erling Haaland, I will rate him 10 out of 10. I think Erling is [an] outstanding striker and Benji [Sesko], I think at the moment, maybe he’s a nine, nine and a half out of 10. And he has potential. He will develop in the next one or two years, I’m sure.”

“Erling reached his mark after his transfer from Dortmund to Man City and we will see. I am quite sure Benji will reach this mark after one or two years. But, of course, Erling is the top. He has 10 out of 10 from me.”
Sesko has had a tough start to life at Man United
The 22-year-old’s only start for the Red Devils so far came in the shock Carabao Cup second round defeat to League Two outfit Grimsby Town.
Head coach Ruben Amorim hasn’t named Sesko in the first eleven for a league games up until now, despite the player costing an initial €76.5m (£66m).
Will the striker face City this weekend?
The injuries sustained by both Matheus Cunha and Mason Mount before the international break suggests that Sesko will be in the starting lineup for the Manchester derby.
It’s fair to say that the match at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday has a lot riding on it for both teams. If the Red Devils do lose, it would mean Amorim’s side have only picked up four points from a possible twelve.
