Chelsea agree new striker transfer with seven-year deal planned

On the way: Emanuel Emegha will leave Strasbourg for Chelsea at the end of the season

Chelsea Football Newsletter

Chelsea have announced an agreement to sign Emanuel Emegha from Strasbourg, with the striker set to join the Blues next summer.

Chelsea had been known to be considering signing Emegha from their sister club for a number of months, with the deal confirmed on Friday.

It is believed that the Dutch forward will sign a seven-year contract when he arrives at Stamford Bridge in 2026.

Emegha has scored prolifically for Strasbourg since joining from Austrian side Sturm Graz in 2023.

Last season, the Netherlands Under-21 international netted 14 goals and provided three assists in 27 Ligue 1 appearances for Liam Rosenior’s team, impressing Strasbourg’s co-owners, who also control Chelsea.

At 6ft 5ins tall, Emegha is seen as a physical centre-forward, and is the current captain of Strasbourg.

He will join Chelsea after the current campaign, as will Sporting winger Geovany Quenda and Brazilian teenage left-back Denner, who plays for Corinthians.

Chelsea have done plenty of business with Strasbourg over the past couple of seasons, with Mike Penders, Mamadou Sarr and Kendry Paez all currently on loan with the French side for the 2025/26 season.

Reports this week have also suggested that the Blues are interested in a deal for Paez’s fellow Ecuadorian youngster Deinner Ordonez of Independiente del Valle, former club of both Paez and Moises Caicedo.
