Pittsburgh Steelers get Tyreek Hill trade price

The Pittsburgh Steelers have become embroiled in trade rumors around Tyreek Hill over the last few days, but if the team were considering the star Miami Dolphins receiver, what would it cost them to land him?

Dolphins insider Armando Salguero says that Hill, who is entering the last year of his deal in 2026, would cost a team no more than a late third round pick, and could end up only bringing back an early day three pick.

"So, if he’s moved — a fourth — a late third, a fourth, a fifth,” Salguero said on 93.7 the Fan. “Have to understand that [2026] is the last year of his contract.”

ESPN insider Adam Schefter says that no one has called about the star receiver, which comes days after a report by Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk that the Steelers and Kansas City Chiefs were interested.

“The facts are the Miami Dolphins haven’t gotten any calls about Tyreek Hill. Zero. The facts are the Dolphins are not looking to deal Tyreek Hill,” Schefter said.

Hill had a public falling out with some members of the Dolphins organization after saying, ‘I’m out bro’ following the team’s final game last season.

Hill instead has tried to mend his relationships with others and the organization, but that has become frayed, and a lack of success within the group has not helped that.

Florio says that if the Steelers want to be even more ‘all-in’, there is already chatter around the Steelers being the ones to make the move.

“There’s already chatter, in the aftermath of Sunday’s win over the Jets, that the all-in Steelers could go even more all-in by making a move for (Tyreek) Hill,” Florio wrote. “Yes, Pittsburgh already has receiver DK Metcalf, who’s making $30 million per year on a five-year deal. But the Steelers don’t have a clear cut No. 2. Hill would be 1b (if not, at times, 1a) to Metcalf.”

Add in that a league investigation into domestic abuse allegations has commenced against Hill and it is much harder to sell a trade than it was a few days ago.

To trade him, the Dolphins would have to eat dead money, which could drive the cost of a trade up if he does get moved. The Steelers would be a natural spot, but so would the Kansas City Chiefs, who will be without top wide receivers Xavier Worthy and Rashee Rice for the next few weeks.

Hill’s play is not what it once was at the height of his career. He had just 959 receiving yards in 17 games a season ago, a stark drop off from his 1700 receiving yards in 2023, where was a Pro Bowler.

Now aging, it could be the sign that Hill’s play is simply dropping off as he gets older, however, the Steelers could still be involved in potential sweepstakes if the Dolphins would be willing to move Hill.
