Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has provided a team news update ahead of his side’s trip to Everton this weekend.

Villa will be looking to secure their first win of the season on Saturday, having failed to score in their opening three games.

Following a 0-0 draw with Newcastle United on the opening weekend, Villa then suffered back-to-back defeats to Brentford and Crystal Palace.

Boubacar Kamara and Amadou Onana both missed the 3-0 defeat to Palace, while Ross Barkley and Andres Garcia are yet to feature this campaign.

Meanwhile, Matty Cash suffered a thigh injury while playing for Poland during the international break, but Emery has confirmed that he will be available to face Everton.

The Villa boss also confirmed that all three of the club’s new signings - Harvey Elliott, Jadon Sancho, and Victor Lindelöf - will be in the squad.

As will Emi Martinez, despite missing the last Premier League match before the international break due to doubts over his future before deadline day.

“He is available,” Emery said of Martinez. “Emi, Marco [Bizot] and Sam [Proctor] are all in the squad.”

Villa, however, will be without Kamara, Onana and Garcia, while Barkley will also not be involved.

“Matty Cash is available, but we have some players injured, but they are close to coming back like Andres Garcia, Kamara, and Amadou Onana.

“Ross Barkley is not available, he has a personal issue. He will be available soon, but not yet. The other players are ready.”

Everton are winless in their last 12 Premier League matches against Villa, all since Villa returned to the competition in 2019-20. Their last win was in March 2016, a 3-1 win at Villa Park.
