Forest Preview has all the pre-match info you’ll need
Nottingham Forest are back in Premier League action on Saturday lunchtime when the Reds travel to North London to take on Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium (kick-off 12.30pm BST).
Forest head to the capital with Ange Postecoglou to take charge of his first fixture since becoming our new Head Coach earlier this week.
The Reds have four points from our opening three Premier League fixtures having claimed victory against Brentford before claiming a point against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park the following weekend.
Arsenal meanwhile claimed six points from their opening two Premier League fixtures with a 1-0 win against Manchester United at Old Trafford being followed by a 3-0 win against Leeds United at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners’ winning start was ended by champions Liverpool before the international break.
In total, the two sides have met 107 times in competitive football with the Reds claiming the win on 29 occasions while 23 matches have ended in a draw. Arsenal have won the remaining 55.
Opposition in focus
After battling with Liverpool for top spot in the Premier League for the majority of the 2024/25 campaign, Arsenal have strengthened over the summer as they look to repeat their challenge for English football’s top honour.
Eberechi Eze, Viktor Gyökeres, Noni Madueke and Martin Zubimendi have been the headline arrivals at the Emirates over the summer, while Christian Nørgaard, Cristhian Mosquera, Piero Hincapié and Kepa Arrizabalaga have also joined.
Mikel Arteta’s side have finished the last three campaigns in second place, pushing the eventual champions close each time.
The Gunners have a rich Premier League history, having lifted the trophy three times since its inception in 1992, though their last triumph came in 2004 when the famous Invincibles claimed the top honour.
In total, Arsenal have won the top division in England 13 times in their history.

Prolific forward Kevin Campbell made close to 100 appearances for Forest during his three years on Trentside, scoring 34 times in the Garibaldi.
Although he suffered relegation from Division One during his time at the City Ground, his goals played a major role in the Reds returning to the top flight at the first attempt in 1997/98.
Campbell started his career in north London, rising through the youth ranks with the Gunners to the first team.
He scored 60 times in 228 appearances for the Gunners between 1988 and 1995 before moving to the City Ground.
Man in the middle
Darren England is the referee for the Reds’ clash with Arsenal.
The official has overseen two Premier League fixtures so far in 2025/26 — Chelsea’s goalless draw with Crystal Palace on the opening weekend of the season and Brighton & Hove Albion’s 2-1 win over Manchester City before the international break.
England was the referee for two Forest fixtures during the last campaign, including our first win at Old Trafford in 30 years.
Meanwhile, the last fixture involving the Gunners was their 1-1 draw with Everton back in April.
In total this season, England has awarded nine yellow cards and has pointed to the penalty spot once. He is yet to issue a red card in 2025/26.
Assisting England in north London will be Scott Ledger and Nick Greenhalgh. On fourth-official duty is Oliver Langford, while Andy Madley is the VAR.
