According to a report from Fichajes, Real Madrid have intensified their efforts to sign Ibrahima Konate, and they have managed to reach an agreement in principle with the French international. The former RB Leipzig star seems keen on making the switch and has given the initial green light to the move.
Konate made a name for himself at Leipzig before joining Liverpool in the summer of 2021 in a deal worth £35 million. He has only gone from strength to strength since and has established himself as one of their mainstays.
He has formed a dependable partnership alongside Virgil van Dijk and is an integral part of Arne Slot’s plans. While the Dutch manager would love to have the French centre-back around for years to come, his future is up in the air because of his contract situation.

Konate has entered the final year of his deal. While Liverpool have made multiple attempts to extend his stay at the club, the former Leipzig star is not keen on extending his stay at the club.
