Ruben Amorim explains goalkeeper choice for Manchester derby

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim confirmed Altay Bayindir will start in the Manchester derby against Manchester City, despite the recent acquisition of Senne Lammens.

United signed Senne Lammens from Antwerp for £18.1m, with Amorim stating the decision was a long-term investment in a goalkeeper with great potential.

First-choice goalkeeper Andre Onana was loaned to Trabzonspor for the season, a move Amorim indicated was mutually agreed upon due to performance struggles and a need for a change of environment.

Amorim explained that Lammens will compete with Bayindir for the starting position once he has adjusted to English football, acknowledging the league's unique demands.

Manchester United will be without injured players Matheus Cunha, Mason Mount, and Diogo Dalot for Sunday's derby, necessitating at least three changes to the squad.
