Heat Reportedly Wanted To Sign Former Suns Star

The Miami Heat have been the subject of big headlines lately, but they actually haven’t made many major moves.

However, the team is always contemplating shaking things up for one particular player: Kevin Durant.

Writing for the Miami Herald, Barry Jackson summed up the team’s thoughts on Durant.

They were looking to add him in June, but they couldn’t figure out which players to offer to the Phoenix Suns, and he eventually signed with the Houston Rockets.

“Durant will forever be a Heat possibility if he makes it to free agency; the Heat always has held him in high regard, but key members of the organization disagreed about which players to offer in trade negotiations with Phoenix in June,” Jackson wrote.

Durant and the Heat have been linked for years, but they have never come close to actually signing any paperwork.

Miami will always hold a special place in their hearts for Durant, and would love to have him in the lineup, but time is running out.

Durant is now with the Rockets, and he might find great success with the team.

But if he doesn’t, you can be sure rumors about him entering free agency will pop up.

He hasn’t signed an extension with the team, which means leaving is a possibility next summer if things don’t go smoothly.

And if rumors do arise, the Heat will once again be the top team to consider because they cannot give up their desire to have Durant, no matter where he is currently playing.

They just lost their latest chance in the offseason, but the Heat know they might get it again in the near future.
