Nottingham Forest Premier League squad confirmed after Ange Postecoglou makes late change

Nottingham Forest’s 2025/26 Premier League squad has been confirmed.

Following the closure of the summer transfer window on September 1, Premier League teams were required to submit their 25-man lists ahead of the action resuming this weekend after the international break. Each club’s squad must contain no more than 17 players who do not meet the ‘Home Grown Player’ criteria, while players under the age of 21 (born on or after January 1 2004) do not count towards the total.

The Reds were reportedly forced into a late change to their squad, following an injury to full-back Ola Aina. The defender is expected to be out of action for at least three months with a hamstring issue.

Aina has been left off Forest’s list. Striker Taiwo Awoniyi is said to have benefitted from his teammate’s exclusion and has been included instead.

In a statement on Aina’s injury, the Reds said: “Nottingham Forest can confirm that Ola Aina sustained a hamstring injury whilst on international duty which will see him sidelined for a period of time. The defender picked up the injury in the tenth minute of Nigeria’s 1-1 draw against South Africa on Tuesday. Everyone at the club sends their best wishes to Ola and wishes him a speedy recovery.”

The Reds have named only 24 senior players in their submitted squad. Zach Abbott and Jair Cunha are both classed as Under-21 players and do not count toward the 25-man total.

Forest return to action on Saturday for new head coach Ange Postecoglou’s first game in charge. They take on Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium (12.30pm kick-off).

Forest’s Premier League squad: Elliot Anderson, Taiwo Awoniyi, Dilane Bakwa, Willy Boly, Murillo, Nicolas Dominguez, Morgan Gibbs-White, Omari Hutchinson, Angus Gunn, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Arnaud Kalimuendo, Igor Jesus, John Victor, James McAtee, Nikola Milenkovic, Dan Ndoye, Ibrahim Sangare, Nicolo Savona, Matz Sels, Douglas Luiz, Neco Williams, Chris Wood, Ryan Yates, Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Home grown players: Anderson, Awoniyi, Gibbs-White, Hutchinson, Gunn, Hudson-Odoi, McAtee, Williams, Wood, Yates.
