MLS club are thinking about making an approach for 25-year-old Manchester United flop Jadon Sancho, with the player not shutting the door.
According to TEAMtalk, Jadon Sancho is emerging as a target for MLS clubs ahead of next summer. The 25-year-old Manchester United flop might be a free agent by that time, as he’s not opposed to joining a team in America, although there could be potential interest from English and European sides.
Jadon Sancho’s career seems to have fallen off a cliff since his high-profile move from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester United in 2021. Neither has the player lived up to his big-money tag nor has he performed remotely to the levels he did in Germany before the move.
The Englishman was discarded by Erik ten Hag at the start of the 2023/24 season, as he has since spent time on loan at former side Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea. Manchester United struggled to sell him during the summer despite the 25-year-old being in the final year of his lucrative deal.
Jadon Sancho eventually joined Aston Villa on loan for the remainder of the 2025/26 season, but that does not leave Manchester United empty-handed. The Red Devils have an option to extend his deal by another season, and that might come into effect if the English winger performs well during his loan spell at Villa Park.
Aston Villa are already considering a permanent move for Sancho, but those reports might be a bit premature given that he has yet to play for the club. Juventus and Borussia Dortmund are keen ahead of next summer, particularly if the 25-year-old Manchester United flop is available on a free transfer.
MLS clubs angling for Jadon Sancho move
MLS clubs are the surprise package for Sancho, as some of the sides there are angling to make an approach for the 25-year-old Manchester United flop. The player himself is not opposed to the idea, with the reason given in the report suggesting he could be open to playing in a competitive environment with limited pressure, unlike those in England or Europe.
However, at 25, Jadon Sancho is still seen as one of the talented footballers around, and it might be a step backwards to join an MLS team now. Hence, there is a distinct possibility for the 25-year-old Manchester United flop to study offers from America, but he may consider moves to one of the European clubs.
