Details Emerge About Coby White’s Contract Demands

The Chicago Bulls just finished working out a deal with Josh Giddey, but they have another player to worry about: Coby White.

According to Jake Fischer, White will also be asking for a sizeable contract in free agency next summer.

He will be demanding more than $30 million annually, and isn’t expected to sign an extension with the Bulls because he can get more money elsewhere.

This means that unless White has a change of heart, the Bulls will be losing him next summer.

That’ll hurt the team because he put up 20.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 4.5 assists last season, shooting 45.3 percent from the field and 37.0 percent from the three-point line.

White has built himself into a very competitive and impressive player over the last six seasons, and the Bulls will be sad to see him go.

There is always a chance that he decides he wants to stick around in Chicago, but if he literally cannot make more money with the Bulls, it would make sense for him to enter free agency.

In free agency, he’ll be a huge target, although $30 million annually is a tall order.

So, in the months ahead, White will attempt to put up really strong numbers as a way to show the rest of the league what he can do.

He will be thinking about his asking price and next contract, while the Bulls will be contemplating what a post-White future looks like.

It sounds like this will be a season of change for the Bulls and White.
