Bill Simmons Gives Major Endorsement To Thunder’s Rising Star

The Oklahoma City Thunder are officially the best team in the NBA, and they are hoping to build a dynasty.

They just won their first championship, but they want several more after that.

The team could look very different in the future, but Bill Simmons recently talked about one player who is only going to improve in OKC, and possibly be a part of Team USA in the 2028 Olympics.

He said that Cason Wallace is about to have several great and noteworthy seasons in Oklahoma City.

“It’s a bet on him on what he’s going to be like in the next couple of years. You figure Lu Dort and Caruso, I don’t think they have both in a couple of years. The Second Apron makes it impossible. He’s going to keep getting big minutes in big games. I think he’ll have to handle the ball a little more as the years pass. Maybe he can be my second ball-handler,” Simmons said, via Clemente Almanza.

Wallace has spent his first two seasons in the NBA with the Thunder, averaging 7.5 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.0 assists during that time.

Last season, he put up 8.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.5 assists, as well as 1.8 steals.

He played for 27.6 minutes per game, but Simmons thinks he could get more time in the upcoming seasons.

That’s because the team will probably have to part ways with some expensive contracts soon, which means that Lu Dort and Alex Caruso might be too costly for them.

As the roster experiences shakeups, Wallace could work his way into more time on the court.

It’s never too early to be thinking about the Olympics, even though they are several years away.

There are already multiple stars in the league who are showing they have what it takes to play, and a few who everyone should keep an eye on, such as Wallace.
