The Jacksonville Jaguars may or may not be without Foyesade Oluokun for the Week 2 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. While Wednesday's injury report wasn't largely unchanged, the veteran linebacker made a sudden appearance on Thursday's.
Oluokun was named the AFC defensive player of the week following his jaw-dropping performance in the 26-10 win against the Carolina Panthers. But if he were to miss the Week 2 bout, the Jags would be able to withstand his potential absence.
Foyesade Oluokun appeared on the Jaguars injury report
Ryan O'Halloran of The Florida Times-Union first reported that Foyesade Oluokun didn't participate in practice on Thursday. Then, the injury report was posted, and lo and behold, he was listed with an illness.
Aside from Oluokun, right tackle Anton Harrison popped up because he suffered a back injury in the opener. However, he was a full go in practice and should be at full strength for Week 2. Swing tackle Cole Van Lanen also showed up and had no restrictions after being a limited participant ahead the week prior. Barring any setbacks, he's trending toward suiting up against the Cincinnati Bengals.
On the other hand, neither offensive lineman Wyatt Milum (knee) nor cornerback Montaric Brown (ankle) suited up for practice Wednesday. At this point, both of them appear to be long shots to play in Week 2.

The Jaguars should be fine even without Foyesade Oluokun
The Jacksonville Jaguars put together a well-rounded linebacker corps. Their depth was on full display against the Carolina Panthers in the season opener.
Foyesade Oluokun played all 64 defensive snaps against the Panthers. Devin Lloyd was second among linebackers with 22. Dennis Gardeck logged 17, and Ventrell Miller had 16. If Oluokun misses the game, Gardeck, Lloyd, and Miller will see an uptick in playing time.
Rookie Jack Kiser and 2023 fifth-round pick Yasir Abdullah could also get a few snaps, but the bottom line is that the Jaguars can do without Oluokun. That said, it's not a given that their veteran leader will miss the game. He could be back at practice Friday, and even if he isn't, Oluokun will have a couple days to recover.
Heading into the game, the Jags are a 3.5-point underdog, but Foyesade Oluokun's potential absence shouldn't be a reason for concern. Heck, they could come out on top even without him. Of course, the rest of the team will need to show up and play.
