This is obviously a very tough blow for Real Madrid, as Rüdiger was going to be relied upon as one of the most important players in the team’s defensive line. Now, Militao and Huijsen will be the Real Madrid’s two undisputed starters in that position, with the Brazilian center-back just having recovered from a very serious ACL injury.
Rüdiger’s body appears to have entered its decline, and he’s set to become a free agent next summer. Rumors indicate that Real Madrid will not offer him an extension.
