Leeds United confirm Premier League squad as Daniel Farke includes forgotten man

Leeds United have confirmed their full squad for the 2025/26 Premier League season. All 20 teams throughout the competition are given until after transfer deadline day to submit the full list, to allow them to add any new arrivals into the mix.

Daniel Farke has added 10 senior signings to his Leeds squad since Leeds won promotion back to the top-flight as champions - and all 10 are in the 25-man selection - along with forgotten man Illan Meslier.

That means goalkeeper Lucas Perri is there, along with defenders James Justin, Gabriel Gudmundsson, Sebastiaan Bornauw and Jaka Bijol, midfielders Anton Stach and Sean Longstaff, as well as new strikers Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Lukas Nmecha and Noah Okafor.

Meslier was linked with a summer exit after the arrival of new first-choice 'keeper Perri, but has remained at Elland Road and will be available for the matchday squad in the coming weeks after Perri picked up an injury. "One thing I can confirm is that Lucas Perri is definitely out of the game," Farke told reporters pre-match.

"He reported after the last game that he had problems with his quad, we had a scan and there's muscle strain and will definitely miss the next two games against Fulham and Wolves.

"Then after that we'll see with more clarity when he'll return."

Premier League clubs are allowed a maximum of 17 players who don't count as 'home-grown' - as per official rules - with all others needing to be 'home-grown' players - though these players don't need to be English.

A home-grown player, by the Premier League's definition, means one who "has been registered with any club affiliated to The Football Association or the Football Association of Wales for a period, continuous or not, of three entire seasons, or 36 months, before his 21st birthday (or the end of the season during which he turns 21)."

Ethan Ampadu, Jayden Bogle, Sam Byram, Alex Cairns, Karl Darlow, Jack Harrison, Dan James, Joe Rodon and Pascal Struijk all fill home-grown slots, as do new signings Calvert-Lewin, Justin, Longstaff and Nmecha. Despite playing his international football for Germany, Nmecha grew up in England and came through Manchester City's academy.

Teams are also allowed an unlimited number of Under-21 players, meaning those born on or after 1 January 2004. Harry Gray - who made his senior debut last season and was on the subs bench in the Carabao Cup second round - is among those who would fall into this category.
