Micah Parsons is quickly becoming one of the more disruptive and impactful players across the entire NFL, since arriving in the Packers’ front-seven following a blockbuster trade with the Dallas Cowboys.
In Thursday night’s victory over the Commanders, alone, Parsons produced seven pressures to go with his half sack of wunderkind quarterback Jayden Daniels. Through two games, Parsons has 1.5 sacks, nine pressures, and is wreaking havoc in opposing backfields despite still working his way back from an injured back.
Parsons isn’t just filling up the stat sheet, but his presence seems to have unlocked the speed, explosiveness, and disruptiveness of a Packers defense that is flying to the football right now.
Micah Parsons wants larger Packers role
However, two weeks into his tenure in Green Bay, Parsons is ready for more.
“Honestly, it’s pissing me off,” Parsons said after Green Bay’s 27-18 win over the Washington Commanders on “Thursday Night Football.” “Can’t hold a dog back forever.”
It sounds like some uncomfortable conversations could be coming between Parsons and defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley, after the Packers have played him just 77 of 136 defensive snaps (56.6%) through the first two games of the season.
Moreover, as Parsons gets healthier and continues to look as dominant as he has through two weeks, the Packers may be close to turning him completely loose, which could be terrible news for quarterbacks across the league, based on how this defense is playing.
