eek two is off and running. Taking home upset win over the Kansas City Chiefs in Brazil, the Los Angeles Chargers are back it again, preparing for their week two matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders. A contender to win the AFC West and snap the Chiefs nine year division title streak, the Chargers are more locked in than ever. On the quest for a Super Bowl as well, every win in 2025 matters.

Ahead of their week two game, the Chargers released their latest injury report. Already down a fair number of players, this week’s injury report has some key players still nursing some ailments, including star linebacker, Denzel Perryman.

Chargers’ Injury Report

After practice on Sept. 11, the Chargers released their report of who participated and who didn’t. Among the names absent were Perryman and Del’Shawn Phillips— meaning that the team was down both of its linebackers. Phillips is dealing with a toe injury while Perryman is still recovering from his week one ankle injury. Head coach Jim Harbaugh spoke to reporters earlier in the week and did not provide a timeline for a Perryman return. The full Chargers’ injury report is as follows:

DB Elijah Molden – hamstring- limited

LB Del’Shawn Phillips- toe- DNP

LB Denzel Perryman- ankle- DNP

CB Tarheeb Still– calf- limited

Perryman and Phillips will most likely miss the game on Sunday with a did not practice designation late in the week. And while the team still has practices on Friday and Saturday leading up to the Monday Night Football game, players that miss practice completely that late in the week likely miss the following game. As for Still and Molden, their status is still TBD.

Chargers Outlook For Week Two

The AFC West is more competitive than ever before. For years, the division has been run by the Chiefs but now, the Chargers, Raiders and the Denver Broncos all have rosters that, on paper, should provide stiff competition for the Chiefs. Making the playoffs in Harbaugh’s first season last year, and having the league’s best defense, the Chargers are even better this season.

But the Monday Night Football game against the Raiders is a great opportunity for the Chargers to really show what they are made of. Investing a lot in their roster this offseason as well, the Raiders are dangerous and a win proves that the Chargers are in the conversation for being the best in the division. Kickoff for the Chargers-Raiders is at 7 p.m. (PT) on ESPN/ABC and is part of the Monday Night Football doubleheader.
