While Johnson is certainly ready to make his 2025 debut, his teammates are just as eager for his return.
"It goes without saying," defensive tackle Grady Jarrett said about the value of Johnson's return. "The guy is one of the top players at the position. Obviously, him on the field is going to make a difference for us and we're excited to hopefully get him back Sunday. Nobody is more ready than him to go do his thing. Super happy for him and happy for this whole team."
Edwards also missed Week 1's game with a hamstring injury that kept him completely sidelined from last week's practices. This week, Edwards was a limited participant Wednesday and Thursday before practicing in full Friday.
Prior to Friday's practice, Johnson provided a brief update on Edwards, saying the linebacker looks "very good" compared to last week.
"T.J. Edwards is coming along just fine," Johnson added.
Other players without injury designations include receiver DJ Moore (abdomen/groin), running back Roschon Johnson (foot) and cornerback Josh Blackwell (groin). Johnson and Blackwell both sat out of Monday's game and are set to make their 2025 debuts.
The Bears also listed defensive tackle Grady Jarrett (knee) as questionable and receiver Jahdae Walker (ankle) as doubtful. Jarrett did not practice Wednesday or Thursday but was limited Friday.
Walker practiced in limited fashion Wednesday and Thursday, but did not participate Friday.
The only Bear ruled out for Sunday is nickel back Kyler Gordon (hamstring), who will miss his second consecutive game. Fifth-year pro Nick McCloud started in Gordon's place against the Vikings and played 82% of the defensive snaps.
