LAKE FOREST, Ill., — There was some good and bad news with the Chicago Bears final injury report on Friday, ahead of a Week 2 matchup with the Detroit Lions. For the second-straight week, the Bears will be without starting nickel Kyler Gordon, who is dealing with a hamstring injury that flared up last week.
Gordon didn't play in Week 1 against Minnesota, and since then, he hasn't practiced, leading up to his OUT status revealed on Friday.
However, there was some good news. The Bears will get starting defensive back Jaylon Johnson back for Week 2 as he missed the first game with a calf and groin injury. Johnson returned to practice and has been a full participant, officially set to return.
"I'm very happy with him. He comes out, he's got a swagger to him. Confidence, he's not afraid to talk a little bit," Ben Johnson said. "That's what I feel immediately is just the presence out there. When you watch the tape yesterday, he's very sticky. We like to eliminate the space in our coverages, and so I think he's going to be a really good fit for us this week."
Running back Roschon Johnson, linebacker TJ. Edwards, defensive back Josh Blackwell and wide receiver DJ Moore were all full participants and do not have a game designation.
That's great news for the Bears.
In addition to those designations, defensive lineman Grady Jarrett is questionable and wide receiver Jahdae Walker is doubtful.
