The New York Knicks have signed former Portland Trail Blazers guard Malcolm Brogdon to a one-year contract. Shams Charania of ESPN [gives the details](https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/46233201/knicks-add-malcolm-brogdon-1-year-deal-backcourt-depth):
_Free agent guard Malcolm Brogdon has agreed to a one-year deal with the New York Knicks, agent Sam Permut of Roc Nation told ESPN on Friday morning._
_Entering his 10th NBA season, Brogdon, a former Sixth Man of the Year, gives the Knicks key backcourt depth and reserve playmaking. Brogdon, who is expected to have a rotation role for new coach Mike Brown, joins Landry Shamet as signings on one-year deals to help round out the Knicks’ roster._
_Brogdon, 32, averaged 12.7 points, 4.1 assists and 3.8 rebounds in a career-low 24 games last season for the Washington Wizards. Although he made a career-worst 29% of his 3-point attempts last season, Brogdon shot 43% on 3-pointers from 2022-23 to 2023-24, ranking fourth in 3-point percentage among players attempting at least 300 3s during that span._
Brogdon played for the Blazers during the 2023-24 season. He was acquired from the Boston Celtics along with center Robert Williams III for guard Jrue Holiday. A year later the Blazers moved him to the Washington Wizards as part of the deal that brought forward Deni Avdija to Portland.
