Oliver Glasner believes new signing Christantus Uche can operate across the front three, but concedes he is best suited to an inverted attacking role in Crystal Palace's 3-4-2-1.
Uche was playing in Spain’s fifth tier just two years ago before catching Getafe’s eye via Primera Federación side Ceuta.
The latest destination on his rapid ascendancy is Selhurst Park after joining Palace on deadline day, initially on loan with an obligation to buy for around £17 million.
Eagles boss Glasner noted that the 22-year-old had to grind to reach the Premier League and is now enjoying every moment.
“He’s always smiling. He’s living his dream of playing in the Premier League and will give everything to make us successful. He will get support from everyone to help him improve and become the best Christantus Uche – he will have a good impact on us.
“I think he can play all three attacking positions. I spoke to him and he feels most comfortable in a ten position, which is where we also see him because we have JP and Eddie Nketiah as our number nines.
“We were looking for a physical player who can play from the ten. It’s a little bit similar to Ismaila Sarr, who could play nine but is a little bit better when he has the game in front of him and can attack the space. This is what we can see with Uche as well.
“It took a little bit of time with Ismaila and it will with Uche. He gets the time but then he will show up for us.”
