Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry is entering his 17th NBA season after being drafted out of Davidson in 2009.
He has since become not only one of the greatest players of his generation but also one of the best in NBA history—and the greatest shooter the game has ever seen.
Curry, however, isn’t ready to slow down. He firmly believes he can compete for another championship and remain among the league’s elite players, a status he has sustained for over a decade.
“Being able to extend your prime, I’m going into Year 17 and really have this belief that I can be at the top of my game again and win at the highest level, so I’m just trying to squeeze the most out of it ’til it’s all over,” Curry said.

The Warriors added two-way star Jimmy Butler at last season’s trade deadline and advanced to the second round of the playoffs after defeating the Houston Rockets. However, Curry sustained an injury in Game 1 of the Round 2 series against the Minnesota Timberwolves, and Golden State ultimately lost the series in five games.
With a full offseason now under their belt, the Warriors return their core trio of Curry, Butler, and Draymond Green. When Curry and Butler shared the floor last season, the team went 22-5, ranking first in defensive rating and eighth in offensive rating.

Last season, Curry averaged 24.5 points, 6.0 assists, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.1 steals while shooting 44.8% from the field and an impressive 39.7% from three-point range—an extremely high mark given the volume of threes he takes on a nightly basis.
The Warriors are set to open the regular season on Oct. 21, NBA opening night, against Luka Doncic, LeBron James, and the Los Angeles Lakers at Crypto.com Arena.
