Alessia Russo was delighted that we made it two wins from two with Friday's 5-1 win away to West Ham United.
She netted our final two goals of the night, first by smashing in the ball after she was found by Olivia Smith, and then from the penalty spot when Smith was found in the area.
"We spoke a lot in pre-season about being consistent and that's what we want to do," she said. "I think we've started really well. We want to keep pushing on. It's a long season, we all know that. But yes, we want to carry on this form."
Asked about the character we've shown to come from behind once again, Russo added: "I think we saw it last season, how we can win in lots of different ways and it doesn't affect us. We know that we have the quality, we know that we'll get the chances. And yes, the bounce back after we conceded the first goal tonight was really positive."

Report: West Ham United 1-5 Arsenal Women](https://www.arsenal.com/fixture/women/2025-Sep-12/west-ham-united-women-women-match-report?utm_source=arsenaldotcom&utm_medium=embedded-article&utm_campaign=news)
It was a tricky first half in Dagenham, but that all changed in the second half following the introduction of Stina Blackstenius and the break, and Russo commented on what we wanted to do differently, as well as how important it is to have game changers who can make such an impact.
"It was tough and I said it before, it's a tough place to come," she said. "We were a little bit unsettled to begin with, but I think our intensity was really good. We won the ball back in high areas and yes, we were really clinical.
"I think we have an amazing squad and you can see starters, people that come on, people that finish the game. Our whole squad is massive and anyone is ready to step up for their moment and that's what's really important. That's what you need to win titles and win trophies."
In the end, there were four different goalscorers and four separate players who got assists as our attackers enjoyed a productive night.
"Yeah, it was good," Russo said. "We've been working hard in training as a unit and yeah, we want to keep building connections and relationships with each other to bring out each other's strengths. So, yeah, it was really positive and now we've got to keep it going."
