It's been a spiral of events for first-year Minnesota Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy in recent days.
He was able to secure his first win as the starting quarterback for the Vikings in Week 1, beating the Chicago Bears in comeback fashion with a 27-24 victory on Monday Night Football.
Just days after making his career debut – completing 13 of 20 passes for 143 yards with two touchdowns and one interception while rushing for 25 more and a touchdown – he welcomed a healthy baby into the world.

J.J. McCarthy has officially started a new life away from football.
Before McCarthy and the Minnesota Vikings look to take on the Atlanta Falcons in Week 2 for the Vikings' home-opener, the Michigan alum and his future wife, Katya Kuropas, gave birth to their firstborn child, Rome McCarthy, on Friday.
The Vikings' quarterback's fiancée, Katya, posted to Instagram on Friday, welcoming their son to the world.
"Welcome to the world Rome Micah McCarthy. The sweetest, most perfect gift from God!! We are so unbelievably blessed to be your parents," Katya wrote in the post.

The couple's family is starting to get bigger after the two got engaged in early 2024.
Rome McCarthy was born weighing 8.7 pounds and measuring 21 inches tall. The Vikings' quarterback will head into his second game as the starting quarterback for Minnesota as a new father.
